It started out as a normal wet weather day with school going along as usual until the rain started to pour so heavy that the puddles which were growing outside of our Junior block suddenly broke through the doors and spilled into the classrooms. Room 15 and the rest of the Rainbow team were very quick and evacuated the block. The students were extraordinarily brave and were a credit to the school.
This wasn't the end to an extraordinary day as the water levels continued to rise the other blocks became surrounded by one giant puddle (almost a lake), the teachers, teacher aides and parent helpers were quick at ensuring that all students we safely evacuated from their blocks whether on foot, by boat or carried by brave adults.
This extreme weather has unfortunately meant that the Junior block has been deemed unsafe to continue to use and Classes 14,15,16 and 17 have relocated to new temporary accommodation around the school.
Room 14 in the Music Room
Rooms 16 and 17 in the Library
And Room 15 have a nice new home in the Technology Room at the back of the Hall, We are sad to be leaving the Rainbow block but will have an exciting new adventure in our new classroom and cant wait to enjoy all the learning in our new surroundings.
Room 15 would like to say a special thanks to all those who have helped out especially on Thursday but also on the subsequent days of clean up. It just shows how amazing community spirit can come together can make an impossible looking clean up, go so smoothly and we are ready to go in our new class on Tuesday morning.
What an exciting adventure Room 15. I will look forward to visiting you all in your new classroom. :-)
ReplyDeleteGoodness me - what a crazy day that was. We are all so proud of our Rainbow Team students for listening so carefully to and following instructions.
